About

Cadence Labs.

Cadence Labs builds the engine that Session View and Embedded run on: one model of a cycling session, physics and physiology together, run forward to plan and inverse to analyse.

The position we have taken is that a figure a coach cannot defend is not worth giving them. That is why every number the engine returns carries its own working, and why an unchecked constant is marked as one rather than being quietly rounded into the result.

We sell to coaches through Session View, and to organisations through Embedded. There is no third thing.

Founder

Edward Mellor, PhD.

Cadence Labs is founded by Edward Mellor. His PhD is in software engineering, specialising in AI and systems engineering, not sport science.

His career before Cadence Labs was spent leading delivery of platforms for critical industries and infrastructure: environments where a wrong decision carries real consequence, and where every output has to be trusted and traced back to its source rather than accepted on faith.

Cadence Labs applies that same standard to sport. The domain knowledge is drawn from and checked against sport science; the engineering discipline, every figure traceable, every assumption visible, no hidden calculation, comes from years spent delivering decision systems for high-stakes industries worldwide.
